One team, start to finish

Ridgeway Kitchen Co. designs and builds kitchens. The people who draw your plans are the people who run your job.

Why design-build

Most kitchen remodels are split between a designer who draws the room and a contractor who builds it. When something in the drawing doesn't fit the house, each side points at the other, and the homeowner ends up refereeing.

We do both. The designer who measures your kitchen stays on as the lead for the build, so the person answering your questions in week one is the person answering them at the final walkthrough. Problems get solved at the drawing stage, where they're cheap, instead of on site, where they aren't.

What we commit to

A fixed price before demolition
You sign one proposal with every line item priced. No surprise change orders for work we should have seen.
One project lead, start to finish
The person who measures your kitchen is the person who hands you the keys back.
A written update every Friday
What got done, what is next, and any decision we need from you.
Licensed trades, scheduled by us
Electricians, plumbers, and counter fabricators are booked and coordinated on our calendar, not yours.

Four phases, planned before we start

Every remodel runs through the same four phases. Your designer walks you through the timing for each one at the consultation, before anything is ordered.

  1. Hand sketching a floor plan on paper

    Design consultation

    Phase 1 of 4

    We
Visit your home, measure the room, and talk through how you cook and what you want changed.
    You
Show us what bothers you about the kitchen now. You leave with a rough budget range at no cost.
  2. Architectural drawings with drafting pencils and a metal rule

    Design & selections

    Phase 2 of 4

    We
Draw the layout, price every line item, and hand you a fixed-price proposal.
    You
Choose cabinets, counters, tile, and fixtures, then sign off before anything is ordered.
  3. Kitchen mid-renovation with new white cabinets wrapped in protective plastic

    Build

    Phase 3 of 4

    We
Demolition, rough-ins, cabinets, counters, tile, and paint, run by one project lead.
    You
Read a written progress update every Friday and keep using the rest of your house.
  4. Finished kitchen with dark fluted cabinetry, wood panels, and a teal stool

    Final walkthrough

    Phase 4 of 4

    We
Finish the punch list, deep-clean, and walk every drawer and fixture with you.
    You
    Cook your first dinner.

Common questions

Is the design consultation really free?

Yes. A designer visits your home, measures the kitchen, and talks through what you want. You get a rough budget range before we leave, and there is no obligation to go further.

How long does a kitchen remodel take?

It depends on the size of the project and on material lead times, especially cabinets. We give you dates for each phase once your design and selections are set, before anything is ordered.

Can we live at home during the remodel?

Most people do. We seal the work area to keep dust out of the rest of the house, and we will help you plan a temporary kitchen setup for the weeks the room is out of service.

How does pricing work?

After the design is final you get a fixed-price proposal with every line item priced. If something changes once work starts, we price the change and get your approval before doing it.

Do you handle permits and inspections?

Yes. We pull the permits the job needs and schedule the inspections, and our licensed trades do the electrical and plumbing work those permits cover.
